The Asian Cup 2024 is ready to begin, as the region’s top teams face off.
The AFC Asian Cup is the premier association football competition played by the senior men’s national teams of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) countries, and it determines Asia’s continental champion. It is the world’s second-oldest continental football championship, after the Copa América. The winner team becomes Asia’s champion and, until 2015, is eligible for the FIFA Confederation Cup.
Reigning champions. Qatar will host the event, using their current World Cup infrastructure, after the tournament was transferred from China due to Covid-19 restrictions in 2023.
The competition will include 24 national teams and consist of 51 games. All games will be played in nine venues, and all events will be staged in seven locations throughout Qatar.
Group A: Qatar, China, Tajikistan, Lebanon
Group B: Australia, Uzbekistan, Syria, India
Group C: Iran, UAE, Palestine, Hong Kong
Group D: Japan, Indonesia, Iraq, Vietnam
Group E: South Korea, Malaysia, Jordan, Bahrain
Group F: Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, Oman
The 2024 Asian Cup is scheduled to begin on 12th January 2024. The first match of this tournament will be contested between Qatar and Lebanon at Lusail Stadium in Lusail.
