It is an interesting updates however it didn’t shock me at all to know that – 200 million people are playing Facebook games monthly.

At a Gaming Event at Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that games are one of the primary reasons some people visit Facebook, confirming that 2/5 of its userbase is using the site for social gaming. Besides that the top ten games on Facebook have more than 12 million users each.

Well, I admit social gaming is interesting as you can choose from various games while challenging new friends online. I don’t know whether this is a good news or not but as the technology becomes advance and gives benefits to the users, I guess most users got no choice but being attracted to use and support them.

Automattic has officially donated the WordPress trademark to the non-profit WordPress Foundation. The announcement was made by one of WordPress’s founding developers, Matt Mullenweg. Automattic had registered for a trademark on the WordPress brand in 2006 and in the years since then, the brand “has grown immeasurably”, says Mullenweg.

As had been quoted from the official announcement by Jane Wells, “the Foundation will be responsible for safeguarding the trademarked name and logo from misuse toward the end of protecting WordPress and preventing confusion among people trying to figure out if a resource is ‘official’ or not.”

In fact it is rare for a company to donate their trademarks to a non-profit foundation, but Mullenweg stated that “I know in my heart that this is the right thing for the entire WordPress community”.

                          

Some football fans might never know about Paul the Octopus, but he seems to get his own fans. He previously predicted the winners of all World Cup matches which involved Germany so this is the first time he made the choice between two non-German teams. Normally Paul only predicts Germany matches however it is an exception for the World Cup final.

Paul assisted by the aquarium staff to make his prediction using two boxes with the teams’ flags and recently he opts Spain to be the winner of the World Cup.

Paul’s prediction correctly happened as he predicted Germany to beat both England and Argentina.

However his prediction seems not to be always right as he predicted Germany instead of Spain in the semi-final but different results happened. In other prediction, Paul predicted Germany to win over Uruguay in the match for 3rd and 4th place.

Do his prediction become real this time? We wait and see.

Helen Thomas was prompted to resign her position after she gave controversial comment during interview with Rabbi David F. Nesenoff which had been filmed and spread all over the Internet.

Here is the transcription of the short interview between Nesenoff and Thomas.

Nesenoff: Any comments on Israel? We’re asking everybody today—
Thomas: Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine.
Nesenoff: Whoa! Any better comments?
Thomas: (Laughing) Remember, these people are occupied, and it isn’t their land — not German, and not Polish.
Nesenoff: So where should they go? What should they do?
Thomas: Go home.
Nesenoff: Where’s home?
Thomas: Poland. Germany.
Nesenoff: So just go back to Poland and Germany?
Thomas: And America, and everywhere else.
